Computers:
It was already great to find one!
In the chronological order:
- a CAE 510 with 8k , the compilers should be started from a tape, requiring a sensible kick, 1970-71 (University)
- an IBM 1130 (in a laboratory of chemistry), able to perforate the cards, 1972-73
- a Télémécanique of 16K 1974-1978 (University) booting with a ruban and more often with keys, with punched cards in input.

Programming languages:
-algol for the CAE computer
-fortran with the IBM
-LISP with the Télémécanique (without flotting numbers, we were in a A.I department)

Algorithms of images generation from 1970 till 1974: the continuous series

Instead of working on a palette with rules of transition, we chose to consider the color as a continuous variable and to look for algorithms of global construction of the image.

We considered the formal color as a set of percentages of its constituents or basic colors. According to the types of realizations, the number of basic colors varied: six for the paintings by hand to nine for the screenprintings.

The first rule, probably under the influence of certain backgrounds in Seurat's paintings which Hervé Huitric admired particularly, was to look for colored variations corresponding to a given luminance. references

Of 1969 to1974 we did not have display screens..To display the calculated images, we used all that we had at our disposal: printer 1969-1972, punch cards1972-1973, - plotter table 1973-1974.
