Animation of a B-Spline figure
In both cases databases were obtained with a digitalisation laser: from a face of mannequin in 1988, from a real face in 1990. Databases are regular grids of points what gives them a structure of "B-Spline surface". The texture (possibly the color) is just a coordinate furthermore (three in the case of the color). When we saw the real face appearing on the screen for the first time, we had the feeling of a new episode in computer generated image.
