After the experiments of modelling of face, we looked for another process for a body. We used a small very simple, plastic doll, cutting horizontal slices. The height of every slice gave one coordinate y, the two other coordinates were directly measured on the slice. (a very manual laser in a sense)
However the
resulting shape, which had the merit of its existence, was still rather
vague. We had not indeed considered that the curves we use in our
program (B-Spline of order 4), were able to produce smooth shapes, but
not able to produce exact shape if the number of control points is not
sufficient.
